7th Grade Math & Pre-Algebra - Progress reports were sent home today. Students who return a signed progress report tomorrow will receive extra credit. Extra credit will not be awarded for progress reports returned later than tomorrow. Today in class students continued working on their Webquest. The Webquest can be found at Olympic Webquest. For today's activity students took the data collect on Tuesday and had to calculate mean, median and mode for each of the 10 alpine skiing events. Since times collected on Tuesday were in mixed units (minutes and seconds) students had to begin by converting the times to one unit (seconds). Then they could calculate mean, median and mode. In addition, students were asked to answer the following questions.
- In what race was the range greatest from gold to bronze? What was the range?
- In what race was the range least from gold to bronze? What was the range?
All parts of the Webquest are due Friday at the end of class. Students have been asked to manage their time and if they feel they will not be able to finish in class Friday then the Webquest is Homework.
