7th Grade Math - Students who did not finish the Surface Area of Pyramids and Triangular Prisms on Tuesday were given time to finish today. The rest of the class began a project on the 1910 Fire. Students will be attending a field trip on Friday so the project is an opportunity for students to research the 1910 fire, the size of the fire, how many lives were lost, as well as discuss the blow up caused by gale force winds. Following the research students will complete a presentation of their choice within small groups. No HW

7th Grade Math - Make-up Day. Students were given the day to get caught up on missing assignments and retake quizzes they still need to reach proficiency on. Students were also told they have one week remaining to get all assignments completed. I reminded them I am available each morning from 7:30 to 7:55, each lunch period and daily from 3:05 to 3:30. They can come in during these times for help or to make up work. No HW

7th Grade Math - After classes yesterday I determined students needed another day to prepare for the Surface Area of Pyramids and Prism Quiz. Today I gave students a 4 question practice test that is nearly identical to the real quiz and asked them to work with partners to make sure they understand how to break each shape into smaller shapes to find the surface area. HW - Study for the Surface Area of Pyramids and Prisms Quiz on Friday.

7th Grade Math - Students were split into learning groups. The answers to yesterdays assignment were placed on the board randomly. Groups were asked to work together to match up the answers to the questions. Each group had to show their work to defend how they came up with the answer. 7th Grade Math - The assignment from last Wednesday was corrected, questions were answered and challenging problems were solved on the board. The daily assignment was handed out and students were given nearly 30 minutes of class time to work on the Surface Area of Pyramids worksheet. The Surface Area of Triangular Prisms and Pyramids Quiz will be on Thursday. HW - Complete the assigned Surface Area WS, time will be given to ask questions at the beginning of class Tuesday
